Terry “Leaf” Erickson passed away March 12, 2019 at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home in Ogden, Utah. He leaves behind his wife Genie of 42 years, four daughters (Gina, Tia, Tory, and Lisa), nine grandchildren, sister Pam (Bob), brothers Scott (Ruth) and Kevin (Kris), also his Richardson step-family. After graduating from Bear River High School, he was drafted in the Army in July of 1969 during the Vietnam War. He was wounded not long after arriving in Vietnam, spending the next year in hospitals in Vietnam, Japan, and Colorado. He was discharged from the Army in April of 1971, receiving several medals including the Purple Heart. He spent most of his working years hauling grain with his brothers Scott, Kevin, and sister-in-law Kris.
The family would like to thank all his dear friends and family members who took time out of their busy schedules to visit him time after time at the Veterans Home in Ogden. They would also like to thank his VA doctor (Gretchen Alexander) and all the nurses, aides, and staff that took such great loving care of him for the past two years. He was a good, kind, caring man that loved the simple things in life and a good story. He loved all his family and friends dearly. He fought until the end.
A gathering of family and friends at the Beaver Dam Church (16025 N. Beaver Dam Rd) will be on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 10-11:45 a.m. Graveside services will immediately follow at Noon at the Beaver Dam Cemetery.
