Theone Hansen, 92, our loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away September 9, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was born February 20, 1920 in Bear River City, Utah to Walter Hansen and Zina Martha Rasmussen Hansen. Theone grew up in Bear River City and attended Bear River Elementary School and graduated from Box Elder High School in 1939. After High School he learned the construction trade. Theone joined the Army in June of 1942. He graduated from Officer Training School as part of the 593rd Amphibious Engineering Brigade as Second Lieutenant. He served in Fort Carrabelle, Florida training troops for amphibious landings and was shipped to New Guinea, where he served until sent home with Malaria in 1944. He retired in 1944. Theone met Dena Anderson while home on furlough from the army. They were married November 23, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. After retiring from the army, Theone and Dena moved to Bear River City, where they lived all of their lives. Theone was a farmer and a builder. In his 60’s he started a log home business with his family based out of the Teton Valley in Idaho. He was a defender of freedom and the constitution and an inventor. He built farm machinery and a log mill for the log home business the family owned. Theone and Dena had six children, one girl and five boys. Theone was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in many callings: including Elders Quorum President, Young Men’s President, Stake Missionary, and a Sunday School Teacher at the Intermountain Indian School in Brigham City. He and Dena also served in the Ogden Temple for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years who passed away this past February. Three of his brothers have passed away, Delwin, Ursel, and Don. Theone is survived by his six children: Marlene Martini, Bountiful, Utah; Stanley and Jean Hansen, Driggs, Idaho; Robert and Marilyn Hansen, Victor, Idaho; Jeffrey and Diane Hansen, Bear River City, Utah; Craig and Pam Hansen, Victor, Idaho; and LaRon and Linda Hansen, Driggs, Idaho. He is also survived by a sister, Arlene Hodson, Plain City, Utah; and a brother, Dwayne Hansen, Dederick, Idaho. He is survived by 36 grandchildren, and 83 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at the Bear River Chapel on Saturday September 15th at 11:00 a.m. There will be a viewing on Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and before the service on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Bear River City Cemetery.
