Gerald was born March 9, 1923, son of Thomas Ballard and Marguerite Bain, died April 23, 2013 .Gerald was born in Logan and lived Tremonton and Hansel Valley. He attended Bear River High.
He was a High priest in the Tremonton First Ward. He was ninety years old. He married Winona Rock on September 8, 1942 in the Logan Temple .Gerald was a member of the Army and served on the island of Saipan during World War II. They are the parents of Pam (Shelton) George and Brent (Diane) Ballard and they raised their family in Tremonton and on the family farm in Hansel Valley. Gerald continued farming after returning from the war, farming in Stervelle, Snowville, Hansel Valley and Howell. Gerald started in the trucking business in 1950 hauling grain, produce and livestock. He continued in the trucking business hauling Pepsi for Admiral Beverage which he enjoyed. He quit driving and sold his last truck in 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Winona; children, Pam and Brent; brother, Mariner and a sister, Eleanor; seven grandchildren, twenty six great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday April 29, 2013 11:00 am at Tremonton First Ward building 166 N Tremont St. Viewings will be held Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Monday 9:30 to 10:30 at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home 111 N 100 E Tremonton Utah . Interment will be at Tremonton River View Cemetery.
