Thora Allen

Portage-Thora Thompson Allen passed away Thursday, August 6, 2009 at home with her family by her side. She was born March 30, 1930 in Clarkston, Utah, the daughter of Ivan and Connie Griffin Thompson. Thora married Ellis L. Allen on March 20, 1952 in the Logan LDS Temple, Logan, UT. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. Thora liked sewing, cooking, baking, crocheting, and quilting. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Cheryl Allen, Marlin K. (Bobbie) Allen, Janet A. (Scott) Baker, and Wayne E. Allen; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; Brother, Verl (Betty, deceased) Thompson, brother-in-law Larry (Leora, deceased) Jardine, brothers: Mervin (JoeAnn) Thompson and Ferris (Carolyn) Thompson,; Brother-in-law K. Leon (IvaLoo, deceased) Allen and sister-in-law Faye A. (Gene) Bingham and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her sister, Leora T. Jardine. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 11 am at the Portage 1st Ward Chapel, Portage, Ut. Friends and family may call Monday, August 10, 2009 from 6 to 8 pm at Rudd Funeral Home, 1234 S Main, Garland UT and Tuesday, August 11,2009 10 to 10:45 am at the church.
