Trevor Mortimer

Trevor James Mortimer passed away unexpectedly on November 25, 2018. He was born on November 27, 1994 in Columbus, Ohio. On March 6th, 1995, Trevor joined his parents, Gary & Kathy Mortimer, as well as his sister, Brittney, and brother, Darrin. On September 23, 1995, Trevor became a part of our eternal family in the Idaho Falls temple. Trevor’s younger sister, Lindsey, joined the family on March 1st, 1996.

Trevor spent the first 6 years of his life in Rigby, Idaho. There, he attended Leading Edge Preschool, and Kindergarten at Harwood Elementary.

His family then moved to the Tremonton, Utah area, settling in Thatcher. He attended McKinley Elementary, Alice C. Harris Intermediate, Bear River Middle School, and then graduated from Bear River High School in 2013.

As he grew up, besides tormenting his younger sister, he enjoyed clogging, and playing basketball and soccer. As he entered high school he found his passion in wrestling, competing for Bear River, as well as wrestling Greco and Freestyle tournaments in the off-season.

Trevor was also a graduate of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Seminary program.

During his senior year of high school he enlisted in the National Guard. In early June, after graduation, he went to Basic Training at Fort Benning, Georgia. He attended AIT at Fort Gordon, and Airborne Training, back at Fort Benning. The remainder of his military service was spent at the 19th Special Forces Group in Ogden, Utah.

After his service, he picked up a strong passion for training and competing in MMA fighting. He had a record of 2 wins and 2 losses, with his last win on November 16 of this year.

Trevor had many friends and family that loved and cherished him. They will truly miss having his smile and his personality that uplifted so many in this life.

Trevor is survived by his parents, his siblings, Brittney Mortimer, Darrin (Katie) Mortimer, Lindsey (Trel) Fonnesbeck, and his nephew and niece, Michael and Kari Beth Mortimer. He is also survived by his Grandpa Johnson and his Grandma Clough.

A viewing will be held on Thursday evening, November 29, 2018 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E.- Tremonton). The funeral will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home with a viewing prior from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
