Vaughan David (Butch) Wigington

Vaughan David (Butch) Wigington passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Butch was born on March 16, 1964 in Pocatello, Idaho to Monte and Wilma Wigington. He was the fifth child of six children.

He attended schools in Pocatello, Idaho. Most of his life was in construction, also at Lowes, Dennys, Target, and Retirement Homes. He loved to fish on his boat, RC cars, play video games, work on and fix anything he could get his hands on. His favorite past time was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and other family members.

He met and married Tracy Curtis in 1982. They had a girl and two boys together. She has preceded him in death. Then he met the love of his life Rebecca Bowen. They were married on June 21, 1995. They combined their families with Butch’s three children and Rebecca’s four girls. They made their home in Utah, Washington and moved back to Utah.

Butch is preceded in death by his stepfather Grant and mother Wilma Phillips; father Monte and stepmother Vesta Wigington; nieces Mary Bowen, Kristen Mouritsen; nephew Daniel Wigington.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca; parents-in-law Lynne and Mary Jane Bowen; his seven children Shawna Wigington (Missouri), Ben Wigington (Utah), Alex and Rachel Wigington (Utah), Machelle and Brannon Bai (Utah), Sarah Pehrson and fiancé Tyler Phillips (Utah), Amy and Chancy Orr (Utah), Destiny and Ben Larson (Hawaii); brothers Bill and Cathy Wigington (Idaho), Jim and Lynn Wigington (Idaho); sisters Sherri and Mitch Overocker, Melanie and Mark Ryder (Idaho), Tawnie Wigington (Idaho); 11 grandsons, 8 granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Noon with a viewing held prior from 11-11:45 A.M. All services will be held at the Beaver Ward Church (16025 N Beaver Dam Rd- Collinston, Utah). Interment in the Beaver Dam Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed and may be accessed below.
