Walter Anderson

Walter “Andy” Anderson passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on October 4, 2012. He was born on April 8, 1928 in Shell City, Missouri to David Clem and Maggie Dunn Anderson. He was raised and reared in Shell City, Missouri; He joined the Navy at a young age and served our country in World War II. He moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he had several jobs such as a street car driver and a cross country semi driver for P.I.E. He met the love of his life LuAnn Shaffer Anderson working as a waitress at The Crossroads Café. They were married on November 17, 1956 and they have been by each other’s side ever since. They then lived in California for a short time where both sons were born. They moved to Utah where they made their home and he worked for Thiokol for 29 years. His hobbies included: Camping, hunting, fishing, spending quality time with his grandchildren, making many wonderful memories, coaching & attending numerous ball games, and traveling with friends. He is survived by his loving wife, LuAnn Shaffer Anderson, two children: Dale Lee Anderson, Gary (Sherry) Anderson, Seven grandchildren; Tiffany (Sheldon) Hunsaker, Josh (Christi) Anderson, Andrew Anderson, Justin Anderson, Shelby Anderson, Shad Anderson, Rylee Anderson. Three great grandchildren: Haleigh Hunsaker, Wyatt Hunsaker and Jagger Anderson. Adopted Family: Kelly & Nancy Pierce and their children; Tanis (Dani) Marble, Jocelyn, Gabriel, and Ethan Pierce, Grandchildren: Rowdy, Rhett, & Hatti. Preceding him in death are his parents, his brothers Harry, Edwin, Robert, David & one sister Mildred Anderson. Father & Mother-in-law: Kenneth & Lucille Shaffer. Two brother-in-laws: Steven Jensen & Dwane Jones. Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Schow and staff, Primrose Home Health Care and staff (Ben, Tara, Dawn). A special thanks to Rudd Funeral Home (Joe & Staff) for their love and compassion. A viewing will be held Monday, October 8th 2012, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Fielding Stake Center (4375 W 15600 N, Fielding), and Tuesday October 9th 2012 from 9:30 to 10:30 followed by funeral services at 11:00am. Interment will be in the East Garland Cemetery.
