Wanda Lewis

Tremonton- Wanda Lucille Parris Lewis, 77, passed away peacefully in her home on June 29, 2014. Wanda was born on September 16, 1936 in Pocatello, ID to Oliver & Iona Parris.

Wanda was raised in Virginia, ID where she met and married E. Darrell Lewis on June 27, 1955. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Throughout their life together they resided in Twin Falls, ID, Pocatello, ID, Malad, ID and Tremonton, UT.

She attended Downey High School and graduated in 1954. While living in Pocatello & Malad she worked at Mountain States Telephone as a PBX operator. She earned her Associates Degree from BATC in Secretarial Science and was a skilled secretary at Thiokol for many years.

Music was her hobby and a passion. She passed that passion on to her family, her deeper passion. Service was her trademark. She loved to serve and help others. She was always putting others above herself.

Wanda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served happily and faithfully as the Ward Organist, Primary President and many other callings always going far above and beyond in magnifying her callings including 8 years as an officiator in the Logan Temple.

She was an active, involved member of the community and a past president of the Women’s Civic League. She enjoyed serving the needs of the community and cherished the relationships she made through her service.

She is survived by her loving & devoted Husband E. Darrell Lewis; Children: Shelly Hamilton, Pam (Bruce) Malmberg and Marty (Jennifer) Lewis; 10 grandchildren; 3 grandchildren-in-law and 3 great grandchildren. A brother, Deryl Parris and a sister, Charlene Corwin.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Darrelene Kay Lewis; grandchildren: Whitney Kay & Brady Darrell Hamilton; parents Oliver & Iona Parris; In-laws: Elmer & Clarice Lewis; Brother Rex Parris and many others joyfully waiting her return to the other side.

Funeral services for Wanda will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Tremonton Stake Center (660 N. 300 E.). There will be a viewing held on Wednesday July 2, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E.) There will also be a viewing held at the church prior to the funeral from 10:00- 11:30 a.m. Interment in the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
