Wayne Weidman

Wayne Weidman passed away in Brigham City, Utah, of natural causes on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. He and his twin sister were born in Bear River City on February 14, 1918 to Joseph Lorenzo Weidmann and Mary Eliza Orme. Wayne graduated from Bear River High School and later served in the Army in the South Pacific during World War II as a member of the 222nd Field Artillery, 40th Infantry Division from 1941 to 1945. Wayne married Alice Lazetta Thompson on September 5, 1949 in Tremonton, Utah. Wayne was an excellent farmer. He and his brother, Byron (his long time business partner), raised cattle, sugar beets, peas, beans, corn and grain on the family farm. Wayne loved the land and farmed for nearly 60 years. Wayne loved to hunt, fish, raise black lab dogs and drive around the Bear River Valley. He loved to talk to people and always had a funny story to tell. Wayne is survived by his wife, children: John (Cynthia), Elwood, Utah; Drew (Shauna), Layton, Utah; and Lee (Londa), Salem, Oregon; and six grandchildren, Elise, Carson, Devin, Brayden, Connor, and Myah. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Virgil (Nadine) and Byron (Olive), his twin sister, Wanda (Rex) Cox, and younger sister, Mona, as well as one niece. The family thanks Curtis and Jason from CNS Hospice Care and Tiffany for providing such excellent care. In lieu of flowers the family suggests you donate to the LDS Church Perpetual Education Fund or the Missionary Fund. Funeral services will be held on Friday September 14, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Tremonton Sixth Ward Chapel, 600 N 300 E. Viewings will be held on Thursday September 13, 2012 from 6-8 pm at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 N 100 E Tremonton, and prior to the funeral from 9:30 – 10:30 am at the chapel. Interment will be at the Bear River City Cemetery with full Military Honors.
