William Lloyd Hunsaker

December 12, 1934 — January 31, 2023

William Lloyd Hunsaker, 88, our loving husband, father and friend returned to our Heavenly Father on January 31, 2023.

Bill was born to Jacob Lloyd and Esther Marguerite Hunsaker on December 12, 1934.  He grew up on the family farm in East Tremonton, and graduated from Bear River High School.

Bill met Frances Carter, an Illinois girl who was working at the Cross X Café and soon after they fell in love.  Sixty-eight years, six children, twelve grandchildren and many great-grandchildren later and they are still in love.  They raised their family and made their home on the farm until they retired.  They helped grandpa with the farming, and grandpa & grandma helped with all of the kids.

Bill started working at the service station while he was still in high school.  After getting married, he worked briefly at Hill Air Force Base before he started the career he would have for the rest of his life, driving truck.  Wild Bill drove fuel trucks, hauled grain, livestock and pulled refrigerated trailers.  Over fifty years of driving truck took him all over the country, on many adventures, and created lifelong friendships.  Though he drove all types of trucks over the years, his favorite was always Kenworth.

Bill & Fran retired in 2004 and moved to Troy, Montana where they built their long-dreamed of log home in the mountains.  Wonderful memories were made there with family and new friends.  They were blessed with amazing neighbors who helped them with many things over the years.

Bill was always a tease.  He would tell silly jokes and made people smile everywhere he went.  He loved to be outdoors, and had some fun and exciting times with family & friends camping and hunting.

Bill is survived by his wife, Frances, their children; Trudy (Larry) Tubbs, Julie Steinburg, Robert Hunsaker, James Hunsaker, Amanda Hunsaker, Samantha (Clark) James, twelve grandchildren, a growing number of great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, BoDell and Francese.
